What is a Catholic Mass?

The Catholic Mass is the celebration of the Holy Eucharist which is the “source and summit of our Christian life” (Lumen Gentium, 11).  At the Last Supper Jesus instituted the Eucharist.  He changed bread and wine into His Body and Blood as an offering of salvation for all. Following His command to “Do this in memory of me” we celebrate the Eucharistic Liturgy and unite ourselves to Christ.

¿Qué es una misa católica?

La misa católica es la celebración de la Sagrada Eucaristía, que es “la fuente y la cumbre de nuestra vida cristiana” (Lumen Gentium, 11). En la última cena Jesús instituyó la Eucaristía. Él transformó el pan y el vino en su Cuerpo y Sangre como una ofrenda de salvación para todos. Siguiendo su mandato de “hacer esto en memoria de mí”, celebramos la liturgia eucarística y nos unimos a Cristo.
